GOLDEN PIN LANES

champs Kyle King & Tyler Boe

Kyle King rolled on to another JBT title, while Tyler Boe used a long trip to make a long journey for his first title come to an end, in exciting JBT Arizona Conference action at Tucson's Golden Pin Lanes.

Riley Dempsey opened the scratch division stepladder finals with a 214-183 win over Jory Koizumi.  Dempsey then got by the other female finalist, defending female Bowler of the Year Allie Ijams, 226-215.  King them stopped Riley's run 248-224 to reach yet another title match.

Top seed Andy Holick was having the best event of his JBT career, leading four rounds en route to the top seed.  However, he struggled early in the title match, and that was all the room that King would need.  He won the match 219-188 for the 44th title of his fantastic JBT career.

Adam Lebbs began the handicap division stepladder finals with a 235-200 victory over first-time finalist Duane Browning.  Boe then took over, beating Lebbs 234-206, and following with a huge 286-229 win over Derek Iozzio to reach the title game.

Top seed Rane Lacona, one of our most veteran bowlers, put on a great performance to grab the top seed.  Tyler, from Washington state, is eight years younger than Rane, but has, like Rane, had some bad luck in JBT title matches.  Both bowlers started the title match well, but it was Boe who maintained the momentum, as late opens from Lacona sealed his fate in Tyler's 245-231 victory and his first career JBT title.

Tyler and Kyle both rolled to victory throwing Ebonite bowling balls, earning an extra $100 scholarship each- thanks Ebonite!  Zach Martinez and Jacob Lebbs earned an extra $25 just for making the cut, thanks to the Impact Challenge, sponsored by Impact Bowling at 99th Ave and Bell Rd in Phoenix.

Thanks to everyone at Golden Pin for hosting our Tour for the first time in almost four years!  Over $1,600 in scholarships were awarded to bowlers of all averages.  Want in on the fun?  Check out our schedule and come on down, it's that simple!
