AMF Imperial Lanes

champs Jordan Plunkett & Kyle Hays

Jordan Plunkett and Kyle Hays opened up the 2009-10 JBT season with victories in season-opening Pacific Northwest Conference action at Seattle's Imperial Lanes.

Plunkett climbed the ladder for his 4th career JBT title, beginning with a big 269-180 win over Austin Marshall.  Jordan then beat Tim Ursillo 216-192, and followed with a 215-155 victory over Schrader White to reach the title match.

Top seed Cameron Weier, the defending Bowler of the Year, picked up right where he left off by leading this event, but it was Plunkett maintaining the hot hand, winning 224-193 for the title.

Hays also climbed the ladder for the win, marking a very rare occurrence when that happens in both divisions in the same event.  He began with a 235-205 over home-house favorite Kelsey Abrahamsen.  Kyle then beat Trevor "crash" Gates 251-229, and followed with a 262-178 win over Tyler Boe, to reach the title match.

Top seed Cody Nelson had taken over the tournament in game 5 en route to the top seed, but Kyle was evidently sick of having little brother Zane (the Invitational champ) grab all the Hays family JBT headlines lately.  He beat nelson 224-175 for the title, the first of his JBT career.

The event was also the first of the 09-10 JBT Women's Series, and in the title match, Natalie Decker beat Katie Beismann 211-177 for her first Women's Series title.  The win can translate into up to a $1,000 scholarship at the 2010 Girls' Invitational.

Over $1,700 in scholarships were awarded at the event.  Thanks to the whole crew at Imperial for another great job hosting our Tour.  Want in on all the fun and excitement?  Get on down to the next JBT event, it's as simple as that!
