Narrows Plaza Bowl

champs Tanner Spacey & Kimmie Satter

Tanner Spacey remained on a roll, while Kimmie Satter tasted victory for the first time, in exciting JBT Pacific Northwest Conference action at Narrows Plaza Bowl.

Eddy Smith began the scratch division stepladder finals with a 217-204 victory over Nick Bachteler.  Smith then got by Catherine Rawsthorne 180-166.  Anthony Douglas, looking for his second title of the weekend already (having won the Overnight Marathon on Veterans Day), then defeated Smith 225-191 to advance to the title game.

Top seed Spacey was just +25 after eight games, but that was good enough to lead the field on the very challenging pattern.  Both bowlers were spectacular in the title game, but it was Tanner who strung the most, throwing the second highest game of the tournament in a 257-226 win, good for his third career JBT title.

Two JBT veterans played in round one of the handicap stepladder, with Toby Shepherd defeating Kelsey Abrahamsen 235-195.  Satter then began her run to the title with a 205-175 win over Toby, and followed that up with a 182-146 victory over Dusty Boegart to set up the finale.

Top seed Kjerstin Richards might as well set up a pro shop at Narrows Plaza, as she's enjoyed huge success at this center including her only two career titles.  She came close to making it three, but Satter was too solid, winning the title game 207-163 for the first win of her career, and joining her brother Tyler as JBT champions.

Rawsthorne avenged her stepladder loss at the expense of Richards in the day's Women's Series event, squeezing out a 174-172 win, the first of three she needs to qualify for the 2012 Girls' TPC this summer.

Thanks as always to the crew at Narrows for an excellent job hosting our Tour.  Over $1,400 in scholarships were earned by bowlers of all averages- want in on the fun?  Just check out our schedule and come on down, it's that simple!
