PARK BOWL

champs Carlton Johnson Jr. & Robert Altieri

In an exciting wrapup to our 'march madness' series, Carlton Johnson Jr and Robert Altieri captured JBT titles in Pacific Northwest Conference action at Bellingham's Park Bowl.

As the highest season-long point scorer to make the cut, Tristan Curtis earned the top overall seed for matchplay, but got tripped up by John Jordan in the two game total pinfall match.  Eventually the sweet sixteen was carved to the final four, and in those matches Jordan lost to Josh Mullen 206-200, while Johnson beat Anthony Douglas 190-184 to reach his first title match.

Johnson showed no signs of rookie panic, as he rolled a great game to win the title 245-190, the first win of his JBT career.

Kyle Hays earned the #1 handicap seed, but after defeating Josh Alvarez in round one, he fell to Altieri in the 'elite 8'.  In final four matches, Altieri got by Samm Cosby, while Luke Jordan beat newcomer JP Pacheaco, to reach the title match.  Robert stayed in control the entire title game, beating Luke 231-191 for the third win of his JBT career.

Catherine Rawsthorne got past Breanne Mattson 229-177 to win the day's Impact Bowling Women's Series title.  She needs one more win to qualify for the 2012 Girls TPC this summer.

Thanks to the crew at Park Bowl for hosting a JBT event for the first time!  Over $2,400 in scholarships were earned by bowlers of all averages and ages on teh weekend- want in on the fun? Come on out to the next JBT event, it's that simple!
