BRC KYRENE

champs Cameron Smith & Rashaad Jordan

Cameron Smith made a successful return to the Tour, while Rashaad Jordan tasted victory for the first time, in exciting JBT Arizona Conference action at BRC Kyrene Lanes.

Smith climbed up a very difficult scratch division stepladder, beginning with a 225-221 thriller over Cortez Schenck, who didn't get the strike on the second ball in the tenth he needed.  He then strung the last four to shut out Eric Hatchett 207-205.  Cameron then poured it on in a 245-204 win against the resurgent Joe Lewandowski to reach the title match,

Top seed Ben Canfield grabbed his first lead of the day with a big game eight, but faltered down the stretch in the late frames of the title game.  Needing only a mark to win. Smith threw a confident strike to wrap up a 204-195 win, and the 37th title of his amazing JBT career.

Megan Carlson began the stepladder finals with a 209-185 win over Erica Pursell.  Candace Gardner then stopped Carlson 184-178.  Jordan then defeated Gardner 203-176 to move on to the title match.

Top seed Lauren Douglas had traded the lead with Jordan all day long, but struggled early in the title match.  Rashaad came up with a great game, meanwhile, to defeat Lauren 240-203, and capture the first title of his JBT career.

Carlson and Pursell met a second time in the day's JBT Impact Bowling Women's Series event.  This time, Megan came out on top again, winning the match 205-192 for her Tour-leading 7th Women's Series win of the season.

Thanks as always to the crew at Kyrene for a great job hosting our Tour.  Want in on all this fun?  Get on out to our next event, it's that simple!
