NOB HILL BOWL

champs Ryan Nikolas & Theresa Kelly

Ryan Nikolas made an emphatic climb up the ladder, while Theresa Kelly emphatically defended her top seed, to capture titles in exciting JBT Pacific Northwest Conference action at Nob Hill Bowl.

Nikolas began his charge up the scratch division stepladder finals with a 267-234 win over John Jordan.  Ryan then kept striking with a 244-212 victory over Jeremy Witt, and then defeated Correen Lieber 226-206 to move on to the title match.

Top seed Connor Jackley put on a spectacular show all day, and had a shot at breaking the 8-game all-time scoring record, just set a week ago in Phoenix.  A bad last game derailed the record attempt, but he still breezed to the top seed.  He rebounded nicely with a 218 in the title game, but nothing could stop Nikolas's roll.  He blasted 257 to claim the title, the third of his JBT career.

Michelle Jensen continued her excellent winter with a 215-198 win over Alexa Lanning to begin the handicap stepladder.  Jensen then defeated Jake Tucker 201-172.  The semifinal between Jensen and Riley Basher was a thriller that ended in a 201 tie.  Basher won the rolloff 47-45 to reach the title match.

Top seed Kelly had the best performance of her JBT career to grab the top spot.  She rolled a confident game in the title match, defeating Basher to capture her first career JBT title.

Makayla Douglas won yet another Women's Series event with a 182-161 win over Coreen Lieber, keeping her in the Girls Bowler of the Year conversation.

Thanks to the whole crew at Nob Hill for a great job hosting us again.  Thanks to the big turnout, over $2,000 was awarded to all ages and averages.  Want in on the fun?  Come on out to the next JBT event, it's that simple!
