NOB HILL

champs Eddy Smith and Jerry Jennings

Eddy Smith and Jerry Jennings both made successful returns to the JBT winner's circle in a jam-packed event at Yakima's Nob Hill Bowl.

Smith had gotten off to a fast start this season, winning at Secoma and not missing the top 5 until November.   He qualified in the middle of the pack at +11 and kept on surviving in the day's 'survivor' format.  Meanwhile, Andrew Heritage had his best ever JBT event, qualifying second after five games and easing through his matches to eventually face Smith for the title.   Eddy was able to win the match for the title, the third of his JBT career.

In the handicap division, Michelle Jennings kept her fantastic roll going by dominating the qualifying round.  She got through early survivor rounds, and then went stratospheric in the late matches, firing 271 and 272 back to back to coast into the title match.  For the title she faced Jerry Jennings, who captured his first title in Salem in February, defeating none other than Michelle.  This time around, it was Jerry again able to stop Jensen's momentum, as he won the final game to earn the second title of his JBT career.

Correen Lieber, having made the open scratch top 5 both days this weekend, capped off the fine bowling with a win over Jensen to earn the day's Women's Series title.  She is now qualified for the Girls TPC this summer in Las Vegas.

Thanks to the crew at Nob Hill for a great job hosting the very busy weekend.  Nearly $4,000 was awarded to all ages and averages.  Want in on the fun and excitement?  Just check out our schedule and come on down, that's all there is to it!
