AMF PEORIA

champs Ben Canfield & Taylor Diana

Ben Canfield kept the dream start to his season going, while Taylor Diana had a dream start to her career, in exciting JBT Arizona Conference action at AMF Peoria.

Canfield had to climb the stepladder against four very tough opponents, beginning with a 211-202 win over Riley Dempsey, earned with a tenth frame double.  Ben then struck on his first ball in the tenth to defeat Mark Myers in a high scoring 248-236 match.  Ben then had an easier time with fellow ASU teammate Shane Valleau 218-147 to reach the title match.

Top seed Lanndyn Carnate has one of the most anomalous stats on Tour, having not won a title since 2004 despite loads of talent.  It looked to be Carnate's time here, as he led the tournament and had the title match lead through nine frames.  But he left the door ajar for Canfield, and every time he has has been tested this season, he's come through.  He did it again here, throuwing a clutch double for the 217-212 win, good for the 5th title of his JBT career.

Gillian Coyle opened up the handicap stepladder finals with a 193-172 win over Jake Hilton.  Zachary Rapp then threw a huge game to stop Coyle 268-199.  The tables were turned in the semifinals though, as Michael Chamot defeated Rapp by a big 248-174 margin.

Top seed Diana used a great semifinal set to jump into the lead, and remained in control against Chamot in the title match.  Her 251-202 win was good for the first title of her JBT career.

Megan Carlson had a great qualifying round to be the top seed for the Impact Bowling Women's Series, then defeated Savannah Carr 227-152 for the title, the second of three she needs to qualify for the Girls TPC this summer.

Thanks as always to the crew at Peoria for hosting us.  Over $1,400 was earned by bowlers of all averages.  Want in on the fun?  Come on out to the next JBT event, it's that simple!
