SECOMA LANES

champs Eddy Smith & Jacob Mullen

Eddy Smith and Jacob Mullen opened up the 2012-13 JBT season with wins at Secoma Lanes in exciting Pacific Northwest Conference action.

In a battle of two of our up-and-coming stars, Tyler Boe beat Daniel Hanson 246-177 to begin the scratch division stepladder finals.  Boe then stopped defending Bowler of the Year Tanner Spacey 236-225.  Cameron Weier then defeated Tyler 217-191 to advance to the title match.

Top seed Smith took advantage of a pattern that matches his 'a' game to stay at or near the top of the leaderboard all day.  Weier, meanwhile, was trying to rack up as many points as possible before he returns to the midwest for college, but Eddy wasn't interested in cooperating with that plan, as he rolled a confident game to beat Weier 227-193 for the title, the second of his JBT career.

Nick Bruketta opened up the handicap division finals with a 227-202 win over defending Bowler of the Year Max Polhill.  Jacob Grimes then stopped Bruketta 225-187.  Mullen then beat Grimes 239-215 to advance to the championship game.

Top seed Katelyn Norton-Hesser had her best JBT event ever, leading seven of the eight rounds.  However, she struggled some in the title match, and Jacob, one day shy of his birthday, gave himself a great present by taking full (and noisy) advantage, winning the game 228-194 for the title, the second of his JBT career.

Courtney Nikolas edged Correen Lieber 182-175 to capture the day's Impact Bowling JBT Women's Series event, the first of three wins she needs to qualify for the 2013 Girls TPC next summer.

Thanks to Mike and the crew at Secoma for a great job hosting our Tour for the first time.  Want in on all the fun and excitement?  Check out our schedule and come on down to the next JBT event, it's that simple!
