WESTERN BOWL

champs Mason Edmondson & Isziah Zuni

Mason Edmondson returned to the JBT winner's circle, while Isziah Zuni tasted victory for the first time, in exciting New Mexico-Texas Conference action at Amarillo's Western Bowl.

Marshal Morrison began a tear up the scratch division stepladder finals with a 257-218 win over fellow West Texas A&M bowler Taylor Coggins.  Morrison then beat Brandon Gill 232-202, and followed with a 226-175 victory over Codey Sibley to reach the title match.

Top seed Edmondson hasn't won since a season-opening triumph at Holiday Bowl, while Morrison was the defending champ in this center.  Despite a 4-6-7 conversion from Marshall early, Mason controlled the game from the start, eventually winning 221-180 for the fourth title of his JBT career.

Tyson Green made his first top 5 finish a success with a 221-216 win over Zach Harvey to begin the handicap division stepladder finals.  Krysta LaRue then fired a big game to defeat Green 261-213.  Zuni then turned the tables on LaRue with a 223-201 win to move on to the title match.

Top seed Brad Harvey bowled well all day in an attempt to join his brother as JBT champions, but struggled early on in the title match.  He closed the gap in the second half but not quite enough, and it was Zuni who captured his first JBT title with a 206-191 win.

LaRue got her revenge in the day's Women's Series event, qualifying as the top seed and then beating Sara Vargas 201-198 for the win, her first of three needed to get into the Girls TPC this summer.

Thanks as always to the great crew at Western for hosting us.  Want in on the best under-21 bowling fun around?  Check out our schedule and come on down to the next JBT event, that's all there is to it!
