CERBAT LANES

champs Kyle Anderson and Jeremy Cardines, with Women's Series winner Heather Penatzer

Kyle Anderson and Jeremy Cardines wrapped up Main Event week as well as 2013 with big JBT wins in exciting dual conference action at Kingman's Cerbat Lanes.

Chris Brown opened the scratch division finals with a 234 game that defeated Main Event champ Oscar Chan (223) and fellow New Mexican Danny Cobine (199).  Brown stayed hot in round two, as his 220 beat Josh Mullen (212) and Heather Penatzer (189).  In the semifinals, Derek Acuff fired 245, beating both Brown (203) and Darren Stanley (235) to move on to the title game.

Top seed Kyle Anderson, visiting for Main Event week from Illinois, tore up the field, throwing the front nine twice (as did Stanley) en route to a +427 eight game total and the top seed.  Acuff, looking for his 20th title, was able to keep it close, but Anderson's pace was just too much.  His 258-235 title match win was good for the first title of his JBT career.

Anthony Dang began the handicap division stepladder finals with a 234-221 win over Minnesota bowler Briley Haugh.  Alexis Atkin then took over, beating Dang 273-230, and following with a 224-213 over Kristen Lee to reach the title match.  Jeremy Cardines switched to lefthanded bowling over the summer, and has spent the fall establishing an average and practicing hard.  The practice paid off with the top seed here, and now paid off with a title thanks to a 264-234 championship game win over Atkin, good for his second career JBT title.

Atkin had more bowling to do, as she took on Penatzer for the day's women's title.  Both ladies bowled very well all day as well as in this game, and in the end Heather's tenth frame double earned her a 212-203 win and her second Women's Series title.

Thanks as always to the great crew at Kingman for hosting our Tour.  Want in on all the fun?  Check out our schedule and get on out to the next JBT event, that's all there is to it!
