PACIFIC LANES

champs Tanner Spacey & Kelsey Abrahamsen

Two JBT veterans picked up titles in exciting Pacific Northwest Conference action at Tacoma's Pacific Lanes.

Nick Devlin opened the scratch division stepladder finals with a 237-155 win over Chris Tuholski.  Devlin kept the strikes coming in round two, defeating Ryan Nikolas 247-199.  Tanner Spacey probably felt he needed to strike a lot to beat Nick, so he threw 11 of them in a 278-204 semifinal win to move on to the title match.

Top seed Josh Mullen had taken the lead from Spacey with a big last game, but in an exciting final game, Spacey edged Mullen 229-226 for the title, the 5th of Spacey's JBT career.

Tristan Sievers made his first handicap division stepladder finals a success with a 203-201 nailbiter win over Ryan DeFazio.  Shannon Bliquez, another first time finalist, then beat Sievers 229-207.  Ally Paolo then stopped Bliquez with a 232-204 semifinal win to play for the title.

Top seed Kelsey Abrahamsen, the defending Bowler of the Year, had struggled early this season, but stayed in or near the lead for most of this event.  She finished it off with a 224-208 win over Paolo, good for her first win of the season and third of her JBT career.

Courtney Nikolas and brand new Team USA bowler Makayla Douglas bowled in a good Women's Series title game, with Courtney coming away with a 217-210 win.
