SUNSET LANES

champs Brandon Myers & Dayton Wickham

Brandon Myers and Dayton Wickham earned JBT titles in exciting Pacific Northwest Conference action at Beaverton's beautiful Sunset Lanes.

Daniel Hanson began the scratch division stepladder finals with a 216-198 win over points leader Nick Devlin.  Hanson then got by Tommie McNeal, who is suddenly making nearly every finals, 236-218.  Brian Monnette, currently sitting second in points, closed the gap against Devlin with a 202-178 win over Hanson to move on to the title game.

Top seed Myers recovered from a difficult trip to the Mojave Invite by bowling great here en route to the lead.  He was solid in the title game as well, rolling a late five-bagger to seal a 225-214 win over Monnette for his third career JBT title, but first in a scratch singles event.

AJ Schock began the handicap division stepladder finals with a 227-193 win over Jerry Jennings.   Wickham then took over, squeaking by Schock 213-206, and following with a 219-150 win over Shannon Bliquez to advance to the championship match.

Top seed Alexa Lanning had dominated the field for most of the day, but couldn't get anything going in the title match.  Fortunately for her, either could Wickham, who suddenly started to struggle as well.  In the end, Dayton had just enough for a 172-161 win, good enough to earn his first career JBT title.

Schock and Kelsey Abrahamsen needed bonus bowling to decide the day's Women's Series event.  After tying the title game at 177, they tied the first rolloff 7-7, before Abrahamsen finally escaped 9-8 in the second overtime for the win.

Thanks as always to the crew at Sunset for a great hosting job.  Want in on the fun?  Come on out to the next JBT event, it's as simple as that!
