WEST SEATTLE BOWL

champs Tommie McNeal & Sheri Hill

Two JBT veterans each captured their first career JBT titles in exciting Pacific Northwest Conference action at the historic West Seattle Bowl.

In an exciting opener to the scratch division stepladder finals, Chris Tuholski edged Brian Monnette by one pin, 200-199.  Daniel Hanson then stopped Tuholski in a low scoring second round, 177-165.  Hanson then snuck by Nick Devlin in the semifinal to advance to the title match.

Top seed Tommie McNeal was enjoying his best JBT event by far, easily leading the field after the semifinals.  Defending Bowler of the Year Hanson was looking to get some momentum going headed into the stretch run of the season, but Tommie remained untouchable in the title game, winning 247-220 for the first title of his JBT career.

Elisa Couch made a cameo appearance this season count, opening the handicap division stepladder finals with a 205-182 win over Nickolas Perini, who kept his hat in the Bowler of the Year ring with the top 5 finish.  Nick Bruketta, another perennial all-star, then defeated Couch, 195-190.  Kyle Obrist then came up with a huge game in a 280-200 win over Bruketta to move on to the title game.

Top seed Sheri Hill was leading a JBT event for the first time, but handled the title match pressure like a seasoned veteran, getting the tenth frame mark to seal the win for her first career JBT title.

Top seed Elisa Couch defeated Kellsey Abrahamsen 240-203 to earn the day's Women's Series title, slowing down Kelsey's late season girls points charge just a little.
