NOB HILL BOWL

champs Tommie McNeal & Cameron Pierre

Tommie McNeal and Cameron Pierre put on impressive displays to capture JBT titles in exciting action at Yakima's Nob Hill Bowl.

Brian Monnette began the scratch division stepladder finals with a 204-195 win over Johnny Leggett.  Kyler Crevier then stopped Monnette 224-187.  Nick Devlin then continued his drive for a third straight title with a 195-164 defeat of Crevier to move on to the title match.

McNeal took over the lead from Devlin and early leader Jake Mullen in game five and never looked back.  Tommie, who continues to improve rapidly, had just enough in the title match to squeeze out a 218-215 win, good for the third victory of his JBT career.

Matthew Anderson and Alex Perini engaged in an exciting opening match of the handicap division stepladder, with Anderson emerging victorious 226-216.  Sheri Hill then stopped Anderson 223-201, and followed with a 214-178 win over Michelle Jensen to reach the title match.

Pierre, who like McNeal is a student of Pac NW uber-coach Ty Treddenbarger, is also rapidly improving, and enjoyed his best JBT performance to date here.  Hill and Cameron both struggled a bit in the title match, and in the end Pierre snuck away with the 192-190 win and his first career JBT title.

Jensen and AJ Schock met for the Women's Series title, and ten frames wasn't enough to determine a winner as they scratched out a 159 tie.  Michelle came up with a great shot in the rolloff, beating AJ 10-9 to earn her first girls title of the season.

Thanks as always to the Kent family for a great job hosting a jam-packed day.  The field is now set for the Pac NW Invitationals, which will award well over $5000 to the field of qualifiers!
