PACIFIC LANES

champs Nick Devlin & Sam Cox

A veteran and a newcomer each scored victories in exciting JBT Pac NW Conference action at Tacoma's Pacific Lanes.

Daniel Hanson began the scratch division stepladder finals with a 247-212 win over the rapidly improving Jake Mullen.  Connor Jackley then returned to action with a 210-202 win over Hanson.  Points leader Nick Devlin then stopped Jackley in the semifinal match 208-192 to advance to another title match.

Ryan Nikolas paced the field on a very challenging pattern, but he could not match the same level in the title match, thanks to a pair of devastating 7-10s in the late frames.  Devlin's excellent season continued with the resulting 223-185 win, good for the 7th title of his JBT career.

Bailey Peters, also having an excellent season, began the handicap division stepladder finals with a 221-190 win over Michael Creel.  Points leader Brendan Hopkins then stopped Peters 231-198, and followed with a 234-217 win over Kris Tomer to reach the title match.

Top seed Sam Cox was not just a newcomer to JBT but to bowling in general, and he's obviously getting the hang of it quickly, as he blistered the field en route to the number one spot.  Hopkins did all he could to stop him, but Sam came up with one of his best games of the day in a 276-242 win, and his first career JBT title.

Kelsey Abrahamsen kept her fine year rolling along with a 183-172 win over Candace Goldfinch to capture the day's Women's Series title.

Thanks as always to the crew at Pacific for a great job hosting our Tour.  Want in on all the fun for all ages and averages?  Just check out our schedule and come on down, that's all there is to it!
