BRC WEST COVINA LANES

champs Cortez Schenck & Lindsay Greim

A 7 year-old was oh so good in winning her first title, while our best ever hit the big 7-0, in exciting JBT So Cal Conference action at BRC West Covina Lanes.

Cortez Schenck rolled to the top seed on the tricky short pattern that challenged the field, and had no problem in "pick your poison" matchplay, beating Trevor Thompson and Brandon Wanders to get to the final.  In the other semifinal, Sergio Torres beat fellow Nevada bowler Eric Hatchett to advance against Schenck for the title.  Cortez gave Torres no chance in the finale, rolling the high game of the day (tying Eric Hatchett for that honor) in an impressive 266-199 win, becoming the first bowler in JBT history to crack the 70 title plateau.

7 year-old Lindsey Greim got stronger as the day went on, beating Brandon Criss in the quarterfinal, and Tyler Handa in the semifinal, to reach the title match.  She'd face top seed Costa Gastouniotis, who cruised through matchplay with wins over Dawson Reese and Marc Villalobos.  Both bowlers struggled mightily in the title match, but in the end, Greim came up with a tenth frame strike to seal a 194-171 win, and her first career title, becoming the sixth-youngest bowler to win a JBT event!

The girls' event came down to the last ball, as Renee Gentry got the 9-count she needed for a 178-177 win over tough-luck Kaylee Am-Khong.

Thanks to the team at West Covina for hosting our Tour.  All ages and averages do well with us every event- just look at these results!  Then check out the schedule and come on down to the next JBT event, it's as simple as that!
