EVERGREEN LANES

champs Josh Alvarez, AJ Schock, & Amanda Burton

Josh Alvarez made a return to the winner's circle, while Amanda Burton tasted victory for the first time, in exciting JBT Pacific Northwest Conference action at Everett's Evergreen Lanes.

After the grind of the qualifying round, bowlers had to convert into sprint mode for one game pick-you-poison matches.  Jerry Jennings bowled brilliantly to gain the scratch division top seed for the first time, and survived his matches until running into AJ Brockett in the semifinals, who beat him 236-199 to advance to the title match.  Meanwhile, Alvarez had no trouble with Tristan Sievers in the other semi to set up the finale.

Josh stayed in control the whole title game for a 194-165 win, third career title, and first since last January.

Sixteen handicap finalists were eventually carved down to four, and in those matches top seed Payton Edwards successfully navigated the minefield that is Pick Your Poison, beating Hannah Russell 207-201 to move on to the title game.  In the other semi, Burton stopped Christiana Fogg to set up a title match between two bowlers appearing in their first championship match each.

Edwards slowed down a bit in the finale, and Burton took advantage for a solid 219-169 win, earning the first title of her JBT career.

AJ Schock kept her fine season in the Women's Series rolling with a 219-169 win over Celeste Johnson for the day's girls crown.

Thanks as always to the team at Evergreen for another great job hosting our Tour.  Want to have a great time and improve all at the same time?  Just check out our schedule and come on down to the next JBT event!
