TEXAS STATION

champs Cerell Cardines, Rachael Berg, & Devyn Patalina

JBT veterans added titles to their collections in exciting Mojave Conference action at Texas Station.

All-time JBT titles leader Cortez Schenck opened round one of the scratch division stepladder finals with a 213-188 win over fellow Arizona bowler KJ Martinez.  Joe Grondin then stopped Schenck 257-183.  Cerell Cardines in turn defeated Grondin 235-184 to advance to the title match.

All during the stepladder finals, higher seeds got to choose whether they 'loved the lanes' (it was Valentine's Day) and stay on that pair, or move to a new pair with no further practice.  Top seed Dallas Leong was the only scratch bowler to exercise that option, but could not stop Cerell any more on the new pair than he had on the original one, as Cardines racked up the front five on a challenging pattern to coast to a 234-177 win, and his fifth career JBT title.

It was Sam on Sam violence to open the handicap stepladder, as  Samantha Conti came up with a 230-210 win over Sam Espiritu.  Conti then defeated Matt Baker 242-173, and followed with a 197-181 over 9 year-old newcomer Colt Jance, to advance to the title game.

Top seed Devyn Patalina, like Leong, also decided he didn't 'love the lanes', but unlike Dallas, the move proved profitable, as he bowled a great game on the new pair for a 234-201 win over Conti, earning Devyn the third title of his JBT career.

The day's women's series title match came down to just one pin, and unfortunately for Kaylee Am-Khong she found herself on the losing end of the match, dropping a 182-181 decision to Rachael Berg in a well-bowled match by both ladies.

Thanks as always to the incredible Jerry Francomano and his team for a great job hosting our Tour.  Want in on all the fun? Just come on down to the next JBT event on the calendar, that's all you have to do!
