Harley Sweigart remained enchanted by this conference, while Reagan Russ earned his first win, in exciting JBT NM-TX Conference action at Strike Gold Lanes in Pojoaque.
Kellen Lavery began the scratch division stepladder finals with a 186-162 win over Daniel Hall. Brad Harvey then defeated Lavery 174-168, and followed with a win over Matteo Bergonzi to reach the title match.
Top seed Harley Sweigart has done a lot of his damage on Tour this year in New Mexico, with multiple titles and 300 games. It was more of the former this time, as his 224-201 win (despite an amazing 7-9 conversion from Harvey) was good for the 19th title of his impressive JBT career.
Defending Bowler of the Year Donius Jeffries II began the handicap division stepladder with a 211-170 win over Toby Cdebaca. Bernadette Davis then stopped Jeffries 213-193. Russ then halted Davis to advance to his first title match.
Elias Martinez finished with the same 8-game total as Russ, but had the higher handicap game to earn the top seed. However, Reagan had all the momentum, and grabbed a quick lead which he never let go of, cruising to the first title of his JBT career.
Vanessa Romero added another Girls Scratch title to her collection with a 207-189 win over Davis, while Daniel Hall piled on another U17 win in a 258-132 wallop of Jeffries.
