SAM'S TOWN

champs Sergio Torres & Sam Espiritu with U17 runner-up TJ Rock, U17 champ Cerell Cardines, handicap runner-up William Robbins, and Girls champ April McDonnell

Sergio Torres completed a dream weekend, while Sam Espiritu reminded everyone whose town this is, in exciting JBT Mojave Conference action at Sam's Town Bowling Center in Las Vegas.

Bowlers competed in our Super Survivor format, where the low game and the lowest overall totals are eliminated round by round.  Scratch finalists were carved down to four bowlers, and in that round Cortez Schenck bowed out with the low game of 195, while TJ Rock rolled a fine 226, but his +117 total was lowest, good for the fourth place finish.

That left Cerell Cardines, and previous day's champ Sergio Torres, left to battle for the title.  Torres started the day by blasting a 296 on the cheetah pattern, and finished the day almost as strong, starting with the front five and eventually beating Cerell 258-226 for the title,  The one time prior champ swept the weekend, tripling his title total in twenty-four impressive hours.

Handicap bowlers worked their way down to just three survivors, and in that penultimate round, top seed Mark Sauve's 175 went out as low game, leaving William Robbins and Sam Espiritu to battle for the title.  Robbins, a northern Arizona resident, seems to have most of his good results in Mojave events (including the Main Event title), but Espiritu always has strong results at his eponymous center.  He came through again this time, beating Robbins for the second title of his JBT career, both of which coming at His Town.

Cardines was consoled with the U17 win, beating Rock for that title, while April McDonnell claimed her second girls scratch win of the season, beating Kaylee Am-Khong in that title match.  Thanks as always to the team at Sam's Town for hosting our Tour- if you want a part of all this fun, just check out our schedule and come on down!
