Anthony Schanen and Brandon Criss wrapped up the 2018-19 JBT So Cal Conference season with exciting wins in terrific action at Montclair's Bowlium Lanes.
Jimmy Hunter began the scratch division stepladder finals with a 214-206 win over Zach Greim. Hunter then poured on teh strikes in a 235-216 win over Elias O'Hollaren to reach the title game. Top seed Schanen had been enjoying his best JBT event ever, including a perfect 300 game in matchplay, and he carried the momentum through to the final, stopping Hunter 249-200, and earning the 3rd title of his JBT career.
Ryan Bass began the handicap division stepladder with a 205-185 win over Maikayla Villa. Ronnie Castillo then stopped Bass 223-188 to advance to the title game. Top seed Criss has been red-hot this spring, and with the 268-215 title match win over impressive newcomer Castillo, Brandon locked up the 4th title of his JBT career.
O'Hollaren's excellent day wrapped with a tenth-frame strike to defeat Greim 224-214 to win the day's U17 side event. The Priority Girls Scratch event went to Allison Azvedo, with a 209-173 decision over Kaylee Am-Khong.
Big thanks as always to the team at Bowlium for hosting out Tour. The field is now set for the So Cal Invitational, where qualifiers will be contending for $1,000 top prizes!
