Kaden Walters, Colt Jance, Jacob Lee, Bud Sicard, Sienna Stoner, Sam Bingham

            Bud Sicard reached an elite milestone, while Sam Bingham tasted victory for the first time, in terrific JBT Pacific Northwest Conference action at Rainbow Lanes in Forest Grove.

            Danny Chalmers began the scratch division stepladder finals by doing what few have done recently Tour-wide: beat Las Vegas' Andrew Guba, 191-153.  It was Danny's second win of the day over Andrew, having beaten him in matchplay, but Guba still continues to rocket up the all-conference points list.  Sicard then stopped Chalmers in the semifinal match.  Top seed Colt Jance awaited him, having thoroughly dominated the event all weekend on a tricky cheetah pattern.  However, Colt couldn't repeat the magic he had enjoyed, while Bud found a different look that got stronger as he went, eventually winning the match and becoming just the 55th bowler in our 27 year history to reach his tenth JBT title.  Colt did beat Bud earlier for the U17 subdivision crown, and with bowling like that will soon get his first scratch singles win.

            Bingham was in 8th place in the handicap division with one game left in matchplay, then came up with a 221 scratch game to sneak into the stepladder.  He got even hotter there, beating 9 year-old Jacob Lee 277-231 to advance- that 277 being the second-highest handicap game of the weekend behind Hannah Bowman-Brinar's 286.  Sam stayed red hot against #2 seed Sawyer Jones in the next match, beating her to advance to the final.  Top seed Kaden Walters had taken the #1 spot away from Jones in the final matchplay game, but could not replicate the big score in the title game, as Sam finished off the meteoric comeback with the win, good for his first JBT title.  

            Jones' fine day continued with the top seed for the Girls Scratch finals, but Sienna Stoner was right behind and won that final for her first win of the season in that category.  Three balls from the brands of Brunswick were won on the weekend, and a fantastic sponsorship from host Rainbow Lanes helped award over $5,000 in scholarships to all ages and skill levels over the weekend- wow!
