SILVER NUGGET
champs Cayson Coyle & Chelsea Zemelka Cayson Coyle and Chelsea Zemelka captured JBT titles in exciting JBT Mojave Conference action at Silver Nugget. Coyle climbed the ladder en route to his third career JBT crown. He began with a 183-159 win over Jordan Katz. He followed with a 224-204 win over Kyle King, and followed up with a 242-224 win over Justin Spurrier, champ of the last Mojave event, to advance to the finals. Top seed Ray Griffith was enjoying his best JBT performance ever, easily nabbing the top seed. However, he struggled in the finals, and a good ball change proved to be too little too late, as Coyle cruised 245-202 to the victory. Kyle's sister Taylor King opened the handicap finals with a 213-176 win over Kingman's Alicia Sullivan. King then defeated Melissa Huether, 238-195, before Paul Huether defended the family honor with a 238-233 win over Taylor to reach the title match. Top seed Chelsea Zemelka had been close to victory many times before, while Huether was looking for his second title of the season. The well-bowled title match came down to the tenth frame, where Paul converted a 10-pin and filled nine to force Chelsea to mark and get nine to win. After barely avoiding a washout, Zemelka got the spare and followed with a flush strike to finally win her first JBT title. Only 55 bowlers competed in the event, so we hope everyone who attended had a great time, and will spread the word about the great benefits of bowling JBT. Everyone who finished in the top 5 qualifies for the 2007 JBT Mojave Invitational Tournament, the regular season's year end event, featuring a guaranteed minimum $1,000 first place scholarship in each division. Top season-long point scorers also qualify for the 2007 JBT Touring Players' Championship, featuring a guaranteed minimum $2,000 first place scholarship per division! Big thanks to everyone at Silver Nugget for hosting our event. Over $1,500 in scholarships were awarded. Want in on the fun? Come on out to the next JBT event, it's as simple as that!
