Rubin snuck into the round of 16 as the #13 seed and opened with a 2-1 defeat of Cameron Smith.  Also in that round, top seed BJ Baker cruised 2-0 over Christian Jensen, rolling 527 for two, but #2 seed Matt Cormack was upset by #15 Kyle King 2-0.  

In the round of 8, Rubin eliminated #6 Greg Garbera in three tough games, 212-204 in the third.  Meanwhile, Baker beat #9 Lee Alpert 2-0, King defeated #10 Randy Cote in two games, and #3 Forrest Holland ousted #5 Mike Cross 2 games to 1.

In the semifinals, Rubin edged Baker 194-185, while King beat Holland 205-176, to set up a title match that was videotaped by Steven Black with four cameras and had a true "tv show" feel- check it out today at the Videos section of www.bowljbt.com now!

King opened the title match with a double, but that was about the only good thing that happened to him, as Rubin ran off a mid-game five bagger, while King's comeback bid was halted by back-to-back solid 8 pins, much to Randy Cote's agony (again, watch the video!), with the end result being a 222-181 win for Eric, the second time he's won in this all-matchplay format.
