GIRLS OPEN

champ Courtney Dutton
Courtney Dutton is unstoppable in the JBT’s girls-only formats, capturing the
JBT Girls Scratch Open, held at AMF Deer Valley.
Twenty females began in an open-entry, standard format scratch JBT that
highlighted our many talented, higher average female bowlers.
Tucson’s Kayln Washburn led after qualifying, and shot 598 in the
semifinals to maintain that lead going into the stepladder.
April Urban,
Henderson NV, opened the stepladder finals with a 204-173 win over Erica
Lockhart, also of Tucson.
Dutton then took over, defeating Urban 214-193, and followed with a
174-148 win over Martika Cabezas of Thousand Palms, CA, to reach the title
match.
Dutton, the
Girls’ Invitational champion last summer, has a history of finishing title
matches strongly, and this one proved to be no exception, as she struck in the
tenth frame to ensure a 212-199 victory over Washburn, good for the sixth title
of her career.
Thanks
as always to Peggy Cianciola and the crew at Deer Valley for another fantastic
job hosting our Tour.
The JBT returns to Deer Valley for the 37th Annual Desert Open
in August- don’t miss it!
