SUNSET LANES

champs Ricky Overton and Rebeca Reguero

Rebeca Reguero just keeps on winning, while Ricky Overton tasted victory for the first time, in exciting JBT Mojave Conference action at Sunset Lanes.

Greg Geering opened the scratch division stepladder finals by doubling in the tenth for a 202-200 win over Shawn Hrisca.  Geering then squeaked by Alyssa Madrid 218-213, and followed with another close call win, 212-204 over Kris George, to reach the title match.

Top qualifier Overton was leading a JBT event for the first time, and showed no nervousness at the situation, defeating Geering 237-169 for his first career JBT win.

Newcomer Jackie Southam opened the handicap division stepladder with a 209-175 win over Alicia Sullivan.  Handicap points leader Eric Hatchett then defeated Southam 230-176, before Andrew Watkins ended Hatchett's day 253-234 to reach his first title match.

Top seed Reguero, the champion at the previous Mojave event at Silver Nugget, as well as the all-conference handicap points leader, remained on a big-time Nevada roll, blasting 257 scratch to defeat Watkins 269-208, for her 4th career JBT title.

Thanks to everyone at Sunset for another great job hosting us.  Over $1,300 in scholarships was awarded to bowlers of all ages and averages.  Want in on teh fun?  Come on down to the next JBT event, it's as simple as that!
