      Diego Lucero and Felishia Sevier captured their first JBT titles in exciting NM-TX Conference action at Bernalillo's Starlight Lanes.

     CJ Stout opened the handicap division stepladder finals with the highest handicap game of the entire tournament on the tough PBA Chameleon pattern, defeating Stacia Cilley 280-204.  CJ was almost as good in round two, beating Cheyenne Sevier 263-218.    In a much closer semifinal match, Stout squeaked by Andrea Jaramillo 211-205 to advance to his first career title match.

    Top seed Felishia Sevier was looking to avenge her sister's defeat at the hands of CJ, and she left little doubt as she came out firing early, and despite a fourth straight solid game from CJ, Sevier dominated for a 261-217 win and her first JBT victory.

    Hannah Stedman converted a big split in the tenth frame to key a 189-178 win over points leader William Entsminger to open up the scratch division stepladder finals.  Hannah then defeated Dan Romero 197-178, and in an all-female semifinal, beat Allie Ijams 203-180 to reach her first title match.

   Stedman was looking to become the 9th female to win an open scratch JBT event this season, but to do so would have to beat a determined top seed in Diego Lucero, who has worked hard this season to improve both mentally and physically.  At the end of a tense match, Lucero converted a tenth frame spare for a 212-201 win and his long awaited first JBT title.
