      One Douglas, and a Douglas in disguise, captured JBT titles at Texas Station as the 2008-09 JBT Mojave Conference season got underway.

     Cameron Smith opened the scratch division of the stepladder finals with a 224-172 win over first time finalist Juan Reyes.  Smith then avenged a loss to Kyle King earlier this month with a 228-214 win in round two.  Sloan then stopped Smith, 257-205, to reach the title match.

     Top seed Hannah Chipman continued the recent successes of females in our scratch division by nabbing the top seed over Sloan, who had previously dominated the day since his opening 298 game.  In the title game, Chipman struggled a little bit, and DJ  (the D stands for Douglas) was able to take advantage with a 214-187 win, and his 3rd career JBT victory.

     Andrew Kellogg opened the handicap division of the finals with a 245-172 win over Austin Signoretti.  Kellogg then followed with a 261-201 win over Taylor Ray, before being stopped by Csayni 265-226, setting up our title match. 

   Top seed Stern had dominated the event all day long, and was looking to end a long title drought.  However, 10 year-old Csayni had other ideas, almost beating Stern scratch en route to a 227-202 win, earning him his first JBT title.

   Big thanks to Jerry Francomano and the whole crew at Texas Station for their usual top notch hosting job.  Over $1,500 was awarded to the 69 bowler field.  Want in on the fun?  Come on out to the next JBT event, it's as simple as that!
