LOW, GLAZER, POJAS WIN JBT MAIN EVENT SINGLES TITLES;

34,000+ IN SCHOLARSHIPS AWARDED

        Championships were awarded in singles, doubles, and team events, and bowlers of all ages and averages shared in over $34,000 in scholarship awards, in exciting action at the Junior Bowlers Tour's Las Vegas Main Event tournament, hosted by the South Point Bowling Plaza, and title sponsored by Ebonite and Logo Infiusion.

         Wesley Low, Palmdale CA, became the third bowler to win a second Main Event title, and first bowler to do it in back to back years, by capturing the Open Scratch crown.  Low stopped fellow Team USA member Cortez Schenck, Phoenix AZ, in one semifinal, while Brennan Haugh, Fairbault MN, defeated upstart Julian Zavala, Downey CA, in the other semi.  The title match looked to be all-Low until a great comeback from Brennan and a few errant shots from Wesley, but in the end Low squeezed out a 214-206 win on the demanding pattern for the $3,500 top scholarship prize, while Haugh settled for the $2,000 runner-up windfall.

        Leah Glazer, Henderson NV, a JBT regular on her way to Arkansas State next season, put on the performance of her career to capture the Girls Scratch crown.  She got by 2014 champ Adel Wahner, Las Cruces NM, and two-time finalist Stephanie Zavala, Downey CA, only to have to face top seed and defending champ Madison Bailey, Rocklin CA.  Leah remained up to the task though, rolling a confident game to beat Bailey for the title and $1,800 scholarship prize, while Bailey added $1,200 to her tally.

        Nine year-old Chaysen Pojas, Wahiawa HI, became the youngest singles winner in Main Event history with a brilliant performance in the finals.  After getting past 2014 champ William Robbins, Prescott AZ,  in the semifinals, he defeated Bella Flowers, Surprise AZ, in the title match to earn the $2,500 top scholarship prize.
