2025 JBT Las Vegas Main Event- girls scratch singles

champ Avery Domaguin & runner-up Katelyn Abigania; stepladder finalists

In a battle of San Diego (and Nashville) based superstars, Avery Domaguin defeated Katelyn Abigania to win the girls scratch singles division of the 2025 JBT Las Vegas Main Event, contested at the beautiful South Point Bowling Plaza.

In a bracket/stepladder hybrid finals format, Domaguin began her climb from the 3 seed to eliminate Colorado’s Navaya Rivera, while in a 2024 title game rematch, #5 Kendall Bollea defeated defending champ #4 Lindsay Greim.  The top two seeds then entered, and in that round #2 Abigania ended Bollea’s run. Simultaneous to that was perhaps the story of the tournament, as 13 year-old Alyssa Randisi outbowled a field of mostly high school and collegiate girls to grab the top seed.  She lost a close match to Domaguin (who was herself the young rising star a few years ago), but that hardly diminished the head-turning performance all week long from the New Yorker.

That left Avery and Katelyn to play each other, as they have done countless times since they were little kids growing up in the same San Diego center.  Of course, most of their bowling these days is done as Vanderbilt teammates, where they are freshmen bowling for the Commodores with other JBT alum and great talents nationwide.  The match was low scoring but close, and after Domaguin finished strongly, she could only watch as 2022 and 2023 Main Event champ Abigania, needing a mark, left a disastrous open frame on an evidently good looking shot.  That gave Avery a long awaited first Main Event title, and $2,000 top prize, while Katelyn earned another $1,200 for the frustrating but still excellent result.

Giant thanks to the team at South Point for their fantastic hosting job, all of our sponsors and vendors, especially title sponsors IAM Bowling and the Brands of Brunswick, and of course every family and bowler who attended.  Over $70,000 in scholarships were awarded to all ages and skill levels- come be a part of it at the 2026 Main Event, Dec 26-30, again at South Point, and JBT events year-round!
